The book relates, in words and pictures, the fifteen car races and two for motorbikes that were held on a road circuit in and around the town of Salo on Lake Garda. This picturesque site saw the earliest racing successes of Ferrari and the passage of numerous famous race drivers such as Ascari, Villoresi, Jo Siffert, Jo Schlesser, Stirling Moss and Colin Davis.
